A very warm welcome!

I am so excited to be photographing your special day!

Welcome to my booked wedding client page. Over the next few months I will be preparing for your big day. That means: keeping my gear tuned up, continuing to shoot daily to hone my skills, and answering any questions you may have! You may have hopped over to my wedding portfolio already to check out some past clients and gather ideas. Below I am highlighting some information that may be helpful for you as you prepare for your wedding day.

ENGAGEMENT SESSION

I can't think of a better way to capture this season of engagement than with an engagement session. These sessions are fun, light-hearted, and a great way for me to get to know you before your big day! I'll be following you around like paparazzi that day so it's important for you to feel comfortable in front of my camera :)

QUESTIONNAIRE

4-5 months before your wedding date I will send you a questionnaire. This will help me get to know you better, hear what is most important to you for your wedding day photos, and help me best prepare for capturing your special day. It will also be a reference point for me  when we meet for coffee to go through final wedding day details.

COFFEE DATE

2-3 months before your wedding we will get together for coffee (or meet over zoom if you're out of town), so we can go over wedding day details. This is the perfect time to let me know all of the specifics of the day as well as anything that has changed since you completed your questionnaire. 2 weeks before your wedding I will send you a final photography timeline for you to review & make changes if needed.

ON THE DAY OF YOUR WEDDING

Yay! Your big day has arrived!! I vividly remember the morning of my wedding. I had so many feelings running through me-excitement, nerves, anticipation. The best advice I received for how to navigate my wedding day was this: be present.

Easier said than done, right?!

But truly, the more present you can be on your wedding day and the more you can enjoy each moment throughout the day, the calmer you will feel. You've prepped and planned for months, and now it's time to enjoy this day and focus on becoming one.

Tips

  • I will text you when I'm on my way. I typically arrive about an hour early to get set up and look around the wedding venue for optimal photography spots.

  • Brides: I will be capturing you and your bridesmaids getting ready, so if you can be together and dressed in robes or normal clothes when I get there, that would be great. I recommend having mom, mother-in-law, and grandmothers in the room if possible.

  • Grooms: I will head over to your room after I capture your bride & her bridesmaids. Please have major surfaces picked up, suits on with the exception of jackets (groomsmen & groom) and shoes (groom only). I'll capture those separately. I recommend having your dad, father-in-law, and grandfathers in the room if possible.

DURING YOUR WEDDING

As I've said before, my main hope and prayer for your wedding day, is that you have the ability to be as present as possible. I know there are so many details and timelines to remember, but my goal is to help alleviate that burden for you by being organized, working with your wedding coordinator, and remembering what you have told me is most important for you to have captured.

Throughout the day I will lead and guide you to what's next as far as photography goes. Feel free to speak up if you have a last minute request for a photo, but for the most part I'll have everything written down so you don't have to think about timeline and can just enjoy time with your friends and family.

Expect To:

  • Have fun taking photos with your bridesmaids & groomsmen-bring on the laughter & silly!

  • Be affectionate with your new husband/wife- allow me to showcase your love for each other.

  • Have lots of details captured-the shoes, the rings, the way your husband looks at you as you walk down the aisle. I'm just as focused on capturing the details as I am the moments.

  • Be posed and prompted during portrait sessions-I want you to look & feel your best in your photos

Here are a few of my favorite engagement & wedding blogposts if you would like to check them out!

Once again, it is an absolute honor and joy to be capturing your wedding day.

I'm so excited for the journey that is ahead for you two!

XO, Desiree
