I met this mama 2 years ago as she exited her parked SUV and walked up to the steps to our church. She had a baby on her hip and 2 more kiddos in tow and from the look in her eyes I could tell this was her first time here. I quickly learned that her husband was in the navy and they had just moved from Japan. They were in a new state, a new city, and looking for a church home. My Enneagram 2 nature kicked into high gear and I proceeded to show her where the kids ministry was, introduce her to staff, and invite her to join the moms' group at our church. It didn't take long to realize she was one of the most genuine people I've ever known and a mom who loves her kids fiercely. I had the privilege of capturing her family a year ago and then again, just last week. This time, though, it was a goodbye photoshoot as their family is headed to Virginia for a new assignment. It has been a privilege to watch her family grow these past few years and an even deeper privilege to capture her parents and their 48 years of love! Here are some of my favorites from their shoot.
